Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation

The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation identifies small area concentrations of multiple deprivation across all of Scotland in a consistent way. It allows effective targeting of policies and funding where the aim is to wholly or partly tackle or take account of area concentrations of multiple deprivation.

PUBLIC PROTECTION

The East and Midlothian Public Protection Office has set up a Public Protection website which includes sections on Child Protection; Violence Against Women and Girls; Adult Support and Protection; and Offender Management.  It also includes a very useful multi-agency Training Calendar.
